People suffering from dementia due to their old age, as for example Alzheimer’s disease, need especially intensive care and assistance. They live in the shadows of their memories. Without assistance, they cannot even cope with everyday tasks, although, physically, they would often be able to do so. For further informations please contact: |
Especially for children and young people with a disability or with developmental disorders it is often difficult to cope with our world that is getting more and more complex. These children have abilities which they cannot develop without loving care and support.
For the parents it is often a shock when their child is born with a disability. There are a lot of questions and the parents are often helpless and feel left alone. When the child is still in hospital, the doctors and nurses are often too busy to answer all of the parents' questions. That is why in the Cnopf’s Children’s Clinic in Nuremberg an additional specialist is financed by the Foundation for Children and Young People. This specialist has enough time to listen to the parents, to comfort and support them wherever possible.
Young people with a difficult family background often have problems when they enter professional life. They need intensive assistance in order to cope with the working world. There are plans to use funds of the Foundation for Children and Young People to finance a specialist who supports young people entering professional life.

It is a good tradition of the Diakonie Neuendettelsau to look beyond borders and to help wherever help is needed.
The focus of our current activities in foreign countries is on the establishment of social structures within Europe which is growing together, especially in Eastern Europe.

The Laurentius-Stiftung is the responsible body for this institution in Poland. The foundation's proceeds will be used to finance this institution and similar facilities in other places.
