Community

As fellow workers of the Diakonie Neuendettelsau we form a community of employed staff and voluntary workers. An atmosphere of trust, open communication and respect for one another including various opportunities for working together have put their mark on this community. Consequently the staff's enthusiasm for their work and their self-esteem have grown.

• Joint responsibility for our work links Heads of Department, Staff Representatives, Managers and Colleagues and makes them obliged to work well together.
• Members of our staff are encouraged to live according to their Christian faith.
• The staff shape together the spiritual life in each section of work.
• Other indispensable elements of our community are the provision for reflecting on the meaning of life, giving help in questions regarding the faith and giving pastoral care to the employees. For this purpose pastors and continuous personal development courses are at the disposal of the employees. Apart from that circles have been established to take up the challenge of reshaping our community service and religious community and inviting all of our employees to participate actively.

Examples of this are the so-called "Diakonat" (taking over a particular function as a lay diaconate worker in the community), joining the sisterhood or the brotherhood or being active in the so-called house circles.
